Colorado Springs Still High Fire Danger

We know we have been harping on fire safety for a while but the fires keep happening and the conditions continue to be warm, dry, and windy; perfect for fires.

At Interstate Roofing in Colorado Springs, we are always concerned for our neighbors and friends. With higher fire danger we must all do what we can to prevent fires.

The Colorado Springs area is expected to get a weather break Monday before things heat up.

According to Gazette news partner KKTV, regional temperatures are forecast to be in the 50s and 60s on Monday – a day after El Paso County and surrounding communities were under a red flag warning because of strong winds, warm temperatures and dry conditions.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo predicts that Colorado Springs could see a high near 59 degrees on Monday with relatively light winds throughout the day.

After that, temperatures are forecast to creep into the 70s.

“A very mild, dry stretch of weather continues midweek through the weekend as temps are primarily in the 60s and 70s across the lower elevations,” KKTV said in a weather report. “Fire danger will remain high with breezy afternoons throughout the week.” See more…

Boosting curb appeal: Our top 5 tips for the power of your home’s first impression – Chicago Tribune Whether you plan to sell your house this year or after your last child leaves the nest, being a homeowner includes keeping the house in tip-top shape.

Every house needs curb appeal. You want your house to say “welcome” to prospective buyers, not, as Oz said in the “Wizard of Oz,” “Go away!”

Buyers will notice if your house needs a new roof or siding. These are costly, but they can make or break the sale. Long-term warranties tell the buyers they don’t have to worry about re-doing these projects. See more…

Choosing A Chicago Roofer

Choosing a reputable Chicago roofer is important because unfortunately, not everyone in this business has your best interests at heart. There are a few things that you should be on the lookout for when you are picking a company.

The first thing you should look for is how long the company has been established in your area. If they are new to town you might want to avoid working with them because there are some companies that pop up and disappear after they have collected your hard earned money.

The next thing that is important is to look at their reviews. See what people are saying about them and get a feel for what kind of work they do. If you see a negative review ask them what happened.

You can also ask the company to show you some of their other work so you can see for yourself what there work looks like before you give them any of your money.

That can help you avoid being taken advantage of like the victims from this story:

Stunned By The Most Expensive Home In Dallas

At Lon Smith Roofing, we have been roofing Dallas homes for over 40 years and we have seen a lot of beautiful homes all throughout the DFW Metroplex. Having served our community for such a long time we sometimes feel like we have seen it all and then something comes around and takes us by surprise.

The most expensive home in Dallas did just that. This place is magnificent and massive. It comes complete with multiple basketball courts, a bowling alley, and even a waterpark. Yes, you read that correctly, a waterpark. This place is insane.  You have to see the pictures to believe it. It’s definitely time to pick up a lotto ticket because that’s the only way we could ever manage the $32,000,000 price tag!

My life has quite literally been altered. Yours will be, too, when you witness the wonder that is 10711 Strait Lane. Designed in 2003 by architect Robbie Fusch (who wowed us last year with his contribution to SMU’s sorority row) and built by Bob Thompson, the French-inspired main home is opulent—the kind of opulence warranted by gilded ceilings and a closet fit for Marie Antoinette. The estate is also vast, handedly fitting eight bedrooms, 17.5 bathrooms, a 10-car garage, and multiple pools within its two, full-sized homes (combined by Dr. Richard Malouf in 2008) and 4.3 acre-lot. See more…

If you have substantial damage, we would urge you to contact your insurance company and have them assess the damage. It could be substantial.

You may find that the cost to replace your roof and the amount your insurance company will cover for the damage may not make the claim with the insurance company worth it, but you should assess all that now. Read more…
